It happens every year...Maggie gets highly attached to one of the contestants on American Idol or So You Think You Can Dance, then when that contestant is voted off, she becomes hysterical and nearly inconsolable. The first round of eliminations just concluded, and it has already happened this season with the exit of Jasmine Murray. Upon the announcement of her departure, Maggie began to sob. Thankfully, she was able to be wooed out of her state of disbelief and disappointment with a phone call to her daddy who gave her permission to download Jasmine Murray's two songs that are presently available on I Tunes....Maggie can be seen in these pix crashed out on the couch, clutching her 3 minutes and 22 seconds of Jasmine Murray music on her own CD.
"The time has come," the Walrus said, "To talk of many things: Of shoes—and ships—and sealing-wax— And cabbages—and kings— And why the sea is boiling hot— And whether pigs have wings." Lewis Carroll

Rusty Monkey Wrench
A determined soul will do more with a rusty monkey wrench than a loafer will accomplish with all the tools in a machine shop.
Robert Hughes
With a lot of determination and some help from my neighbors, along with some drilling, measuring, and a trip to Home Depot, I replaced Mag's swings, and added a new tire swing to her swing set. Then I successfully removed the torn and tattered safety net (which served no earthly purpose) from her trampoline. I am finding in my "singlehood" that I am capable of doing much more than I realized I could. Sometimes, I just don't feel like digging deeper to learn one more new thing, but once I have, I am deeply gratified and armed with new knowledge that I can carry with me to the next "next time."

College Trip to Berea Kentucky with Brennan
This past Thursday Brennan and I loaded up and headed for Berea, Kentucky to visit Berea College. The trip got off to a rough start when I learned, less than 24 hours before we left, I was in need of two new tires. After having several more people look at them, it was determined that we could probably rotate the tires and survive the trip. Although the man who rotated them, a stranger no less, said he would pray we would make it there and back safely. We did. Berea College is WONDERFUL. After spending the day there, I determined that I want to be 18 and a college student there. Brennan loved it also. There are approximately 2000 applicants each year and approximately 400 openings. You can do the math...the odds aren't great, but if God wants Brennan at Berea College, he will be there. Unfortunately, I don't have more pix. I didn't want to embarrass Brennan by making him pose in front of signs saying "Welcome to Berea College." I tried to keep my photojournalism under the radar.
